Brenda R. Castells, M.D.

Brenda Castells, M.D., chief resident in the Department of Neuropsychiatry, has donated her time on weekends for the past two years to treat indigent psychiatric patients at the Hospital La Familia, Juarez, Mexico. She is accompanied by a faculty member from the El Paso Psychiatric Center. Castells also presented a lecture on "Depression and Suicide in Child and Adolescents" to faculty and residents of the TTUHSC Pediatrics Department.

Dr. Castells is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is currently Assistant Professor at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso. She received her Medical Doctors degree from the University of Guatemala at San Carlos.

Dr. Castells is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
